The ZERMA ZCS Shredder integrates leading shredder and granulator technologies into a single compact package.

| April 5, 2017

Adapting a recycling system for in-house waste, such as rejected parts and purging’s, into an existing location has always been a challenge. ZERMA has solved this problem with the development of a stacked shredder granulator combination.

ZERMA, one of the leading suppliers of size reduction equipment for the plastics industry has been developing and producing granulators and shredders of the highest quality for more than 50 years. Through constant innovation, ZERMA is always on the lookout for ways to meet their customers’ needs. Today ZERMA is expanding their product portfolio with the ZCS Series.

The ZCS Series

Combining the proven design and high torque of the ZERMA single shaft shredder with a highly efficient granulator, ZERMA is able to provide a reliable, compact size reduction system.

The shredder and granulator are individually driven allowing for better control of the complete process. The shredder is driven via a gearbox located on the shaft end on one side of the rotor. The granulator is driven by a separate belt drive. To increase efficiency, a ZERMA Smart Drive system is used to constantly monitor the load and adjust the current accordingly to reduce electricity consumption.

Equipped with a hydraulically operated ram, the shredder feeds the material automatically into the rotor’s cutting chamber by load-related controls. The hydraulic system is equipped with high-pressure valves and volumetric flow controls which are set per the demands of the input materials.

Combined electrical power of less than 50 kW makes the ZCS1000 a great choice for plastics converters. In combination with a ZERMA Smart Drive, this series runs very efficiently as the current is reduced when there is no load.

The ZERMA ZCS can be used in any application that needs predictable shredder and granulation quality.

Typical applications include, but are not limited to, the following

• Injection molding • Roto molding

• Blow molding • Recycling

• Extrusion • Thermoforming

ZERMA will be introducing the ZCS1000 at ChinaPlas 2017 in Guangzhou. The ZCS Series is available worldwide immediately. To learn more about ZERMA, please visit our web site at www.ZERMA.com. Should you have any questions, please contact us at Sales@Zerma-America.com or at 815-477- 2800.
