Chroma Corporation

McHenry, IL - Chroma Corporation offers an antimicrobial compounded into thermoplastics that would inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, fungus and bacteria. These integrated solutions address undesired growth of microorganisms. Chroma's broad selection included both organic and inorganic antimicrobials that target specific microorganisms. These products are offered as fully compounded products or master batches that are designed to protect the plastics against bacteria or fungi.

Antimicrobials protect plastics from staining and degradation caused by bacteria, mold, mildew, and fungi and do not compromise end-product safety by migrating out of the plastic or being rubbed off the surface. Some of Chroma's additives do not affect optical properties when used with high clarity resins.

With the spread of infections in hospitals and the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria, Antimicrobial compounds can help solve these issues when used in catheters, wound dressings, and high-contact surfaces such as doorknobs and countertops.
